Equipment

Ingredients

  • 5 cups strawberries about 1 kg or 2.2lb; thaw if using frozen
  • 3 tbsp liquid sweetener (optional) honey, agave syrup, date syrup

Instructions

Using a blender

  • Wash the strawberries and either remove the green leaves or keep them as they are edible.
  • Place in a high speed blender and blend. You can also use an immersion blender.
  • Once blended you can either drink it like this, dilute it with water or if you want it without any pulp then strain it through a strainer, cheesecloth or nut bag.

Using a juicer

  • Wash the strawberries and either remove the green leaves or keep them as they are edible.
  • If using a juicer just place the strawberries in a juicer chute and begin. There will be no need to strain as the juicer does it for you.

Notes

Make variations
  • strawberry kiwi juice - add 5 kiwis to 5 cups of strawberries
  • strawberry orange juice - add 3 medium sized oranges to 5 cups of strawberries
  • strawberry banana juice - add 2 banana to 5 cups of strawberries. Banana will give a thicker juice, more like a smoothie so you may need to dilute it more
  • strawberry peach juice - add 5 peaches (pitted) to 5 cups of strawberries
  • strawberry pineapple juice - add 3 cups of chopped and peeled pineapple to 5 cups of strawberries
  • strawberry mango juice - add 3 cups of peeled mango to 5 cups of strawberries. You can use fresh or frozen mango
  • add a splash of lemon and lime for a citrus taste
  • cucumber for freshness
  • make it creamy by adding milk or coconut milk
  • herbs - add herbs like mint or basil to make it herby and refreshing
Tips and Notes
  • Use fresh sweet and tiny bit soft strawberries to get the best tasting sweet juice without using additional sweeteners
  • Use natural liquid sweeteners such as honey or agave syrup
  • Enjoy pulpy or smooth - pulp adds fiber and nutrients but kids and lots of adults usually prefer it smooth. If you have a high speed blender like the Vitamix you may not have any pulp left after the blending process
  • Make popsicles - you can freeze the juice in popsicle molds and then you have a delicious summer snack
