Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp oats
  • 2 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon almond butter
  • ¼ cup kefir
  • cup blueberries

Instructions

  • Place the oats and water in a pot and bring to a boil, then lower the heat until the oats absorb all the water (should be about 5 minutes)
  • In the meantime, wash the blueberries and smash them to minimize choking for babies.
  • Once the oats are cooked, mix in the smashed blueberries, almond butter and kefir and allow the oatmeal to cool for a bit before serving to baby.
  • Serve to baby on a preloaded spoon or in a suction bowl where they can scoop oatmeal with their hand out.

Notes

1. If the oatmeal doesn't seem soft enough cook it for longer.  The longer you cook oatmeal the softer it will be and the easier ti will be for baby to learn to eat in the beginning. If you feel like the oatmeal is not soft enough, but it has absorbed all the water, then just keep adding water little by little until you desired consistency is reached.
2. Suitable for babies 6 months +
3. Can use yogurt instead of kefir, and any other nut butter instead of almond butter.
4. Smash the blueberries (do not use whole) to avoid choking hazard
