Ingredients

  • banana - the riper the banana the sweeter the yogurt will be. We first need to make a banana puree which is made by just blending the banana.
  • yogurt - can use plain yogurt, greek yogurt or any other you like

How to make banana yogurt? Step by step

  1. Peel the banana, break into pieces and place in a blender to make a banana puree.
  2. Take a bowl and mix the banana puree with the yogurt.
  3. Enjoy

Storage

  • in fridge in airtight container up to 3 days
  • in freezer in airtight container up to 3 months
  • thaw in fridge overnight and mix through before serving

Variations and substitutions

  • yogurt - you can make this from plain yogurt, greek yogurt, goats yogurt or vegan yogurt (such as coconut or almond)
  • sweetener for adults - use a liquid sweetener because it mixes better with yogurt than sugar would
  • add spices - cinnamon and nutmeg taste great with banana

Is a banana and yogurt good for breakfast?

Breakfast preferences depend on each person and how their body reacts to a certain food or a combination of food at different times of the day. In general, bananas and yogurt are a good breakfats combination as they contain carbs, protein and fat as well as essential vitamins and minerals. The combination of protein and carbs should allow for longer satiety.
