How To Store

  • Store the pudding in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a longer shelf life.
  • Pre-soaked chia seeds can be kept in a sealed container at room temperature for a small quantity of pre-soaked seeds that can be added to the base recipe.
  • This pudding can also be prepared in advance and stored in covered containers, making it a great option for meal prep on busy mornings.

FAQ

Can I Blend the Chia Seeds Before Mixing?

Of course. If you don't like the chia seed pudding texture and wish to have it smoother, you can always blend all the ingredients at once and pour into a glass jar for a smooth texture.

What Is the Shortest Time to Let the Chia Seeds Settle?

If you are using warm milk or liquid it can be about 10 minutes. If using cold liquid (which we do in this recipe) then twenty minutes is the absolute shortest time you can have chia seeds settle. However, I do encourage you to allow more time for a creamier chia seed pudding. At least an hour but refrigerating overnight is the best option for chia seed pudding.

Can I Add a Sweetener to The Chia Pud for Babies?

Since this recipe is essentially for babies, I have added an overripe banana which adds some sweetness. In case you would like a sweeter chia pudding, you can add a teaspoon of a liquid sweetener, but I do recommend that this is not served to babies or toddlers but better for older kids.
